As part of its long-term mobility vision, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has initiated road improvement works across 40 strategic locations in the city — with all projects set to be executed during the summer of 2025. “We’ve taken into account both efficiency and public safety. By choosing the summer window, we aim to complete critical improvements with minimal inconvenience to the public,” said an RTA spokesperson.


Key Locations Undergoing Upgrades

While full location details are yet to be officially released, the works are focused on high-impact zones where traffic bottlenecks are most frequent. These may include major arteries such as:

  • Sheikh Zayed Road

  • Business Bay district

  • Al Khail Road

  • Downtown Dubai and Jumeirah access points

  • Residential and mixed-use hubs like JVC, Dubai Hills, and Mirdif

These improvements are expected to introduce wider junctions, enhanced pedestrian crossings, better signage, and more intelligent traffic management systems.
